Late in 2004, West Maui realtors Cliff McQueen and Mary Anne Fitch developed a brilliant concept to share their business success with their community and to encourage other realtors to join them. Together, they co-founded the Alliance to Improve Maui (AIM) and recruited eight other realtors to sign on as original AIM members. When they joined AIM, this group of West Maui realtors agreed to contribute a percentage of their commissions on the sales of designated AIM listings to targeted non-profit community organizations. AIM’s first beneficiary was a new independent school opening in West Maui in the fall of 2005, Maui Preparatory Academy.

Over the last two and a half years, this group has grown to include over 30 AIM members and friends of AIM. Together, they have contributed over $800,000 in commissions and personal gifts to Maui Prep, more than half of their goal of raising $1.5 million for the school. According to Maui Prep Head of School, Dr. Jack Rizzo: “AIM donations have been a tremendous source of funding for Maui Prep. By choosing to support the education of young people in our community, AIM members are truly making an impact on the future of Maui for generations to come. The entire Maui Prep ‘Ohana is deeply grateful to Cliff and all the members of AIM.”
